Grand Canyon

Nearly two years ago now, I had the opportunity to visit the Grand Canyon. I was visiting Phoenix, AZ at the time and did the drive out. Words cannot describe the feeling of standing along those cliff edges… Here are some of the photos I took.

It was great to have Kristen over at my place in Vankleek Hill this weekend. With the beautiful weather we were able to do photos outside too!

Winnipeg: At the Forks

I really didn’t have a lot of time to explore all the things Winnipeg has to offer (nor am I really aware of what those things are…), but I managed to explore the Forks area one afternoon. The Forks is full of so much history since this is where the Red River and Assiniboine River meet. The Museum of Human Rights is also in the area – the only national museum in Canada which is not located in Ottawa. It is quite an architectural masterpiece!

Check it out:

Kelowna: Wineries in the Spring

I left Ottawa last week right after it snowed a bit and was in great spirits when I landed in Kelowna to +19 degrees (66 degrees for you Farenheit folks). Not only is this beautiful city right on the biggest lake around, but it’s also the place where some of the best Canadian wine comes from. I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to four local wineries, though that is only a tiny fraction of what you can find there. I’m told you need to book a solid three days to really experience the wine that the Okanagan area has to offer… I think it’s time to plan my next vacation!

Here are some photos from Kelowna including my visits to three of the wineries: Mission Hill, Gray Monk & 50th Parallel.

Vancouver: Night Shots & Conservatory

It was nice to escape the cold of Ottawa for a few days, even if it rained a bit. Here are some photos from my trip – the first few are taken from my hotel room and the second group at the Vancouver Conservatory.
